Glastonbury, England: Outdoor Movies Both Old and New are Shown at the Glastonbury Film Festival

  • Film Festivals

The Cinema Field at Glastonbury Festival screens a mix of new releases and classic films across a marquee and an outdoor screen, all free to festival attendees. The 2008 programme included the complete Bourne trilogy, Kill Bill 1 & 2, Iron Man, Transformers, and an outdoor opener of Back to the Future.

Two advance midnight previews ran in the marquee: The Wackness (courtesy of Revolver Entertainment) -- Josh Peck as a teenage drug dealer trading pot for therapy sessions with Ben Kingsley, set against New York in the summer of 1994 -- and a second yet-to-be-announced title. Family-friendly films screened throughout the weekend, with festival staff monitoring age certificates across both venues.
