Outdoor Movies in Sebring, Florida

The Sebring Public Library launched “Movies by Moonlight,” a free outdoor film series showing every other Saturday evening through winter on a new 16 × 9-foot screen in the back yard of the Highlands Art League Yellow House, next to the library on Lakeview Drive. The debut on December 6 featured Lawrence of Arabia, with cartoons at 5:45 p.m. and the feature at 6 p.m. Mary Myers, director of library services, said she hoped for a strong enough turnout to move to weekly screenings.

“Now that we have the equipment, we’re not limited to movies,” Myers said, noting possibilities including a Super Bowl showing and community karaoke nights. The equipment was funded by a $4,000 state library grant plus a $7,000 donation from the Friends of the Sebring Library.
